This series consists of case files of students attending off-reservation schools and colleges. The records provide information on students' enrollment and progress at Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) schools (e.g., Haskell, Flandreau, Wahpeton, Pipestone), Minnesota public schools, Bemidji State College, and the University of Minnesota-Duluth. The records also provide information on fifteen Indian children who attended the Genoa Indian Industrial School between 1913 and 1933. The case files include applications for admission; registration cards; daily schedules; grade and attendance records; results of aptitude tests; and correspondence. The correspondents include the Superintendent; officials of off-reservation BIA schools; state education authorities; students; and parents, guardians, and other legal representatives of the students.
